The fault started after the works.
It looks like the system was fine before the works and isn't now. It's fair to wonder who should put it right.
What usually happens
Works by other trades are one of the commonest causes of voice alarm faults in the records behind this page: loudspeakers removed and not refitted, end-of-line devices left off, cables cut that were thought to be unrelated, racks filled with plasterboard dust, outputs left disconnected.
What you can safely check
- Note which areas the works covered and when they finished.
- Check the panel for loudspeaker line, earth or open-circuit faults in those areas.
- Ask the contractor whether any loudspeakers, cables or ceiling tiles were moved.
When to call a technician
Before the contractor leaves site, if you can. A walk test of the works area and a circuit test at the rack will show what changed.
Questions for whoever comes
- Which circuits changed reading after the works?
- Is anything missing: a loudspeaker, an end-of-line device, a cable?
- Is the equipment room clean enough to run without overheating?
